The aluminum sandwich construction (2sided_aluminum) with durable Styrofoam insulation provides for optimal ceiling-to-wall connections without cold-bridges. In addition, the outside walls get a very smooth surface and, on the inside, the temperature remains warm or cool – just the way you like it. In the pictures you can see very clearly how our 2sided-aluminum panels make a perfect transition between side walls and ceiling, without any gaps; moreover, they clarify the layer-construction of the floor with its undercarriage made of continuous 2-sided-aluminum.

Aluminum sandwich body construction

Sturdy connections between lateral and rear walls noticeably increase the living comfort inside the cabin and ensure minimized heat loss. The high-quality body construction relies on aluminum sandwich panels with a thickness of 30 mm in the Arto and 42 mm in the Flair. In addition, these insulation values are increased by the inner carpeting lining of the walls. The flush-mounted transition from the front mask to the roof is exemplarily insulated and avoids back-pressure of water so it can run off in forward direction. Lateral rails on the roof also lead the water in forward direction. That way, unpleasant streaks and unnecessary dirt at the lateral walls are noticeably reduced. The panoramic windscreen made of laminated safety glass, which is flush-sealed with the front mask, increases the torsional rigidity of the body.

High-quality sealants and adhesives

Niesmann+Bischoff only use high-quality sealants and adhesives by renowned suppliers. As far as we know, the remarkable insulating effect of polyurethane has, as yet, not been matched by any other material. Sealants and adhesives based on polyurethane and silane-modified polymers form the latest generation of jointing and adhesive materials, featuring excellent adhesion on many substrates, high UV-resistance, weather stability and high elasticity, even at low temperatures. In addition, these materials provide very good varnishing properties, either with solvent-containing or emulsion paints. No wonder these adhesives and sealants with their excellent properties are also used for the construction of high-speed trains.
